An agent at work · Presentation builder

First the story,then the slides.

The Presentation builder is one of the roles in Zaela. It is marketer and designer in one: as strong on what goes into a deck, and in which order, as on layout, typography and charts. It delivers a native, editable PowerPoint, and a PDF when you want one.

The method

This is how the Presentation builder makes a deck.

  1. 01Intake

    Think first, always.

Before a single slide it asks the questions that matter: the goal, who is in the room, the language, the number of slides or minutes, the client and its house style, which data is available, and the deadline. Then it sums up the whole deck in one sentence. Everything that does not support that sentence goes.

  2. 02Story and outline

You confirm the structure before it builds.

It chooses what moves this audience: one storyline, several angles, or a plain logical order when the goal is to inform. Frameworks such as situation, complication, question, answer are tools, not a template. Then it writes a slide-by-slide outline, with the title, function, slide type and the data or image each slide needs, and puts it to you.

  3. 03Figures

Data comes from the Report builder.

It tells the story, it does not pull the numbers. As soon as a deck holds real marketing figures, the Report builder and the channel analysts supply them, read-only and validated. It takes their figures and their uncertainty labels as they are, and adds nothing of its own.

  4. 04Copy and charts

    One idea per slide.

Titles are short and state the conclusion, not the chart type. A comparison becomes a bar chart, a trend a line chart, a share a donut, one strong number a large callout, many exact values a table, proof from a tool a screenshot. Axes start at zero, and every figure carries a source and a date.

  5. 05Build

A deck you can still edit.

The default is a native PowerPoint: real text boxes, real bullets, tables and native charts, so you can change text and numbers yourself, also in Google Slides. A visual that PowerPoint cannot draw well is rendered separately and placed as a sharp image. For a pixel-perfect PDF it builds in HTML and CSS and renders with Playwright.

  6. 06Review

It looks at every slide itself.

After every build it renders each slide and reviews it with its own eyes, as if it were someone else's work: overlap, cut-off text, logo position, colours, page numbers. It fact-checks every figure and claim again. At least two rounds of looking and fixing, because a first render is never the last.

This page is based on the agent's instructions and knowledge in Zaela. The drawings are illustrations.

What it pays attention to

What it pays attention to.

  1. 01

    Fixed form, free story

Logo, typeface, colours, cover and page numbers come exactly from the template in memory. Structure, story and visual ideas are its own call.

  2. 02

    Start with them

A deck opens with the client's situation, not with who you are. Each slide earns its place or goes.

  3. 03

    Fewer, stronger slides

Better twelve strong slides than twenty-five half-full ones. Detail that is not central moves to the appendix.

  4. 04

    Proof next to every claim

Every figure has a source and a date. Its own insights are backed up or labelled as an assumption.

  5. 05

    No bare references

Never just a pointer to a file or a dashboard. It shows a tight screenshot of the relevant part, or a source with name, date and link.

  6. 06

    The right proportion

A click-through rate of 1.15% against 1.10% is nearly equal. Bold and red are kept for what really stands out.

Teamwork

Who it works with.

What it never does.

  • Invent a figure, a claim or a case.
  • Pull marketing data itself on a guess. Figures come through the Report builder.
  • Deviate from the brand form: logo, typeface, colours, positions, cover.
  • Fake bullets with loose shapes. A list is real text you can keep typing in.
  • Deliver a deck it has not seen slide by slide.
  • Promise interactive drill-down in a static deck. For that it proposes a live dashboard.
